  • 患難期前携挙説側として、このシリーズでPremillennialismもやっていた漸進的ディスペンセーション主義の旗手、Craig Blaisingさんが参戦！
  • 患難期中携挙説はまさかの降板！　新たにPre-wrath Raptureを引っさげたAlan Hultbergさんが、序論で「前回の明確な敗者は患難期中携挙主義者のArcherだけだったね」と扱き下ろした上で参戦だ！
  • そして、患難期後携挙説からは、「俺の論は更新する必要がない」と歴戦の勇士にふさわしい自信に満ち溢れたDouglas Mooさんが再登場だ！
  • ……冗談はさておき、単に新しいからというだけではなくて、中でなされている議論の流れとかがこの2010年版の方が好き。でも改定前のThree Viewsがふまえられているので、やっぱり両方読んでおきたいところ。

  • Three ViewsシリーズのMooによるものを除けば、患難期後携挙説といえばこれでしょう！？な、LaddとGundryによるランドマーク的著作２冊。

John F. Walvoord. The Blessed Hope and the Tribulation. Grand Rapids, MI: Zondervan, 1976.

  • LaddとGundryの患難期後携挙説に対する批判書。彼らとWalvoordによる患難期後説vs. 前説論争は、後代に大きな影響を与えた。
  • 後説の支持者は「Laddの圧勝だった」と言い、前説の支持者は「Walvoordの圧勝だった」と評価する。LaddとWalvoordの論争自体はともかく、後代の人たちの「論争のための論争」を見ていると、キリストの福音を信じている限りは仲良くしていこうね、と冷静な気持にさせられる。
  • ともかく、前説による後説に対する批判としてまず押さえておきたい一冊。
